Iran: Bloggers can be put to death

Slashdot.org reports disturbing stories regarding the lack of privacy appreciation. On one hand Iran added "establishing weblogs and sites promoting corruption, prostitution and apostasy" to the list of crimes punishable by death. Apostasy is switching religion btw.

On the other hand Viacom has recently obtained a court order that requires Google to hand over a complete list of every video watched by YouTube users. These logs will include the login names and IP addresses of the users.

I am in a pissy mood now, I apologize for not commenting on your blogs friends. But things are about to change in a major way so. Ya, screw privacy and all human rights, lets go back to the middle ages when things were simpler and u could just use your swords to resolve any kind of conflict.

I would like to commend the bbc on their continuing coverage of the zembabweian elections. reporting in areas that were more or less forgotten. Forgotten by us as humans as the mellinium generation/civilization.
Leading up to the elections the bbc reported how the voters were hassled, intimidated, harmed, and even raped if they didn't vote for the current ruling regeime. The bbc interviewed the locals who have voiced their fear and hopelessness resulting from the state-sponsored violence and oppression.
It is sad that in this day and age, rulers can still do these things and get away with them.
My prayers go to the oppressed people in Zembabwe and all over the world, the international community is very limited since there are agreements limiting the external interference in internal state matters. I wish to c a success rebelion story that will set the tone in this increasingly oppressive world that we're currently living in.

My younger cousin said to my sister. "How so?" my sister asks. "When we were in the airport, he asked me how are you and did you have fun? I was surprised, wallah okhooch 6ayyib" LoL
That made my day lol. I didn't even notice, sometimes a simple greeting or courtesy goes a long way

So am back from Dubai, was fun... kinda dusty when we went there.... it kinda broke the heat down but still it was dusty. They are thinking about instituting the monorail... well lemme rephrase that, they r working on it.. the infrastructure has already been built and and it is in its final stages. Didn't we have such an idea?

Yep, Dubai was enjoyable. I hate shopping, but shopping there wasn't bad. And they had discounts and sales everywhere.. Didn't expect it to be that cheap. Their vergin megastore was really mega. it was huge... and surprisingly good prices unlike the thieves we have here.
Hope that didn't offend anybody and if it did I don't care seriously the prices here are not similar to a more open market. I got GuildWars Factions for less than 7 kd, in Rihab the cd is like 20kd. Yes its that much difference.

Ya well Guild wars is an online game u c, and its similar to World of Warcraft WoW. I used to play that game till it got too demanding... from what I hear its much better than it used to be in Wow but u have to pay monthly and guild wars u just buy it once and then its free to play.. no subscription fees. I missed Wow and looking for a substitute... there r differences but guildwars is keeping me busy :)

I installed Ubuntu Linux on an older machine thinking it was time to get used to the system that should beat windows... I used earlier versions of linux and have sufferred w/ them. The biggest drawback was that a lot of the windows applications didn't work there. But now the Windows Emulator, aka WINE... get it? Its WINdows Emulator WINE. Its soo cool and has evolved sooo much that compatibility isn't much of an issue anymore.
So I installed it on the older machine expecting all kindsa problems recognizing the graphics card and peripherals and stuff. Because well, thats what used to happen.. every installation had to have soo much configuration and the installation would take a long time n stuff. The configuration and permissions and such would need forever to configure and there would be security isues... etc etc.. but to my surprise it just installed, and ran quite nicely on the 1st try... not only that.. it is sooooooo ez to use.. nothing like the older systems its pretty much plug n play now. Am gonna install it on my laptop and goodbye crappy laggy virus filled windows. The unauthorized versions r mostly messed up... did I just admit to piracy? well am redeeming myself LINUX RULEZ. Torrents r not piracy btw, they're sharing.. we all know sharing is caring.

Was chatting w/ Dr Shredd the other day about "tarsheed" and the energy crisis. He decided to research how much it would cost to build new generators. And he found this article talking about California serving 4 million homes w/ a 22 petrolioum power plants. Each plant costing about $500 mill. It would take sooo much less than that to redo the whole energy infrastructure here and since we have the money and lack the planing, umm shouldn't we get started? I mean u guys do know that we have a crisis. It would suck if AC's go out in the summer.

Well Amethyst has really inspire multipurpose posting honestly.. its like you don't have to choose.

All our music equipment are more or less busted for now... Amps need change of tubes. Guitars need change of strings. Need a bass guitar, dealing w/ online ordering is such a hassle.

As I mentioned b4, I was elected as the VP of PR (Public Relations) of alkoot toastmasters. Next meeting will be an open day w/ interesting activities. You might wanna check it out June 30th 19:15 - 21:30 in rumeythyya... going to create a blog for this particular club soon. will keep u updated.

Hi my Blog die hard/hard Core fans.
Been away for a while, lemme explain, time was the same but I was in a different dimension.
I was in a different dimension, my reality differred from every body else's
For a while I got trapped in a different place than the world we know.
I keep going back there, I don't know if it was a choice. I kinda just float there
I still have F's tag in mind just no way words r coming out.

I just saw a piece on SlashDot.org saying that blogging is good for you.
The article sites several sources following a recent article discussing how stressful it is for bloggers to keep updating

Apparently it is actualy healthy and "self-medication" increases your immunity" and stuff... it even reduces viral loads on AIDS patients, ain't that something?

so all u stressed out blogges out there treat it as a form of therapy.
I didn't forget you people, But seriously I wasn't here... My spirit is simply flying through this different dimension or alternate reality and I get sucked in there easily. It is sooo soothing.
I hope I can always come back, but if I don't.. well maybe that world is where I belong

On a side point: Yours Truly, Kaos ahem... was elected as the Public Relations Guy in Alkoot Toastmasters. Toastmasters is supposed to improve leadership abilities and communication skills. Its also a networking/social club
So anyways, just attending the meetings WILL improve YOU and WILL make YOU a better person.

Also in the news; the higher ups have decided on the top priorities for the development of this country and listed them in 5 points: 1- Co-operation between the parliment and the government. 2- Improvements in human resources. 3- improvements in the infra-structure. 4- Making the country a financial center. 5- diversifying the sources of income.

Hey guys how u doin? I know I know... been away for a while, been happening often. Its summer, the sun is slowly taking a toll on me.
What has been happening? I was hesitant to talk about this event but it is one of the things that happened. I knocked the door over the last weekend, intro meeting nothing more. mmmn, her mom asked what are your hobbies and I said am passionate about playing the guitar. The mother is religious and so is the daughter. Apparently they don't listen to music. Incomplete intelligence report I guess. Well this is an important issue for me and I expect this to be added to the search criteria :)
I don't generally celebrate my birthday, well am a scorpio so its at the end of October. bare with me here...

On a side note, did you guys know that a person in love has the similar characteristics to a person w/ OCD? Obsessive Compulsive Disorder? A person in love has psychiatrich issues in other words. Meaning a persona in love is not fit to really make decisions technically. They also say that prozac (the anti-depressant) can "cure" love, heh but who wants to be cured?

Another picture of my dream guitar. The Gibson Les Paul Black Beauty, it might be within reach but I would always believe that this guitar is holy.

The point is, if this was to be my birhday gift.. hint hint I'd be sooo happy about it... I told my cousin Dr Shredd something that am gonna reveal this once so pay attention.

Fresh start

I apologize for not updating my blog for a while, I wanna assure you there were no technical problems. I honestly just couldn't be bothered with blogging over the last week feeling extremely lazy. Seriously didn't feel like it.

Yesterday I went to vote early in the morning to avoid traffic, I believed the results didn't matter that much so I voted for Barrack Obama, j/k
My vote ended up being based on who I have access to, connection in other words. I just couldn't c a real differentiating value among the candidates when it comes to issues.

Anyways the results some were surprising results like Salih Almullah being the only liberal in the 3rd district who ran as an independent surprisingly. So its an interesting mix we have now.
I have drafted a letter to the mp's going to try and send it to as many of them. It is written in English, because it is more convenient for me. I would like your feedback concerning this letter please to improve it

Update: Thanks to No3ik and some events the letter is updated. The news papers report a law suit against Ahmad Almuleify with regards to allegations he made against the Prime Minister. So free speech rights are even affecting the mp's hopefully this'll show them how important it is to act.
Also the student council in Kuwait University has demanded improvements to education and the economy, so these letters and anyway to contact your mp's are valuable to make sure they hear these concerns from multiple sources.

We congratulate the winners and our representatives. May god help and guide your actions in the freshly elected parliament.
This election cycle has demonstrated increased awareness from the people regarding the issues, proved by the high turnout in the 2008 elections.
After giving you our votes, hence giving you our trust to watch over our society, as voters we will hold you accountable for the well being and progress in our country. We expect our representatives to focus on the significant issues that make a difference to our progress rather than waste time on minor issues and personal gain.

Some of the neglected but significant issues that we will focus on:

1- Promoting natural rights and watching out for hindering them by any authority. Our representatives have to set the tone by defending our rights to free speech and rights to privacy. Keeping a close eye on government activities and regulations that attempt to hinder them or violate them as in the case of the arrested bloggers. The mp’s are to take initiatives to expand our rights and oppose any attempts to limit us whether its by the government or fellow mp’s. Already we have seen multiple law suits concerning the publication laws some of which affect teh mp's. That is a clear example of what happens when free speech rights are violated.

2- The economy:
a. Transparency: Globalization is a fact and there is a lot of discussion focusing on making Kuwait a financial center in the gulf. We face a lack of transparency generally in Kuwait in both the public sector and the private sector including the Kuwaiti stock market. A critical part to fighting corruption is promoting freedom of information similar to the freedom of information act in the US.
b. Prohibition of monopoly/ anti trust: There have been a lot of advances during the last few years opening the field to competition, however more needs to be done and this issues needs to be tackled accordingly.
c. Easing of burecracy procedures.

3- Infrastructure Projects:
a. Education and human resources: We want to see more serious actions taken to improve this area since it’s the main driver of a country’s progress. Education has been neglected for a long time, we would like to more education reform with a clear strategy that is goal focused on improving education. More resources should be devoted to human resources and education.
b. Transportation: Increased public transportation is essential for the upcoming period of our country. This will affect all areas of our lives including the economy.
c. Housing: a scientific study should be conducted to project the future needs of the future generations and expanding by promoting projects to build new cities to accommodate the increased demand in housing.

4- Public Health: Public health is a priority for teh advancements of societies. Many problems face the public health sector and we urge the mp's to listen to the experts in the field to help improve our standards of living.

5- Women issues: Many issues concerning women are arising especially the rights of the Kuwaiti woman's children if she was married to a non-Kuwaiiti. The mp's who take intiative tackling these issues will be able to differentiate themselves to a big voter base by the next elections.

These are samples of important issues that we expect our representatives to tackle. With the elections system changing to a 5 district system, the need to expand your voter base will change; and differentiating yourself based on issues and showing results based on the trust that the people gave you will prove more important. The people will be able to point out the inactive members and / or the members who are in it for pure personal gain whom will be filtered constantly every four years.

alwatan newspaper reported on May 7th (link in arabic) a move in the government to limit government employees from publishing their criticisims for different reasons among them that they may not be objective. Its interesting in this day and age when everyone should be striving to expand speech rights and transparency, more of the limit everything attitude being displayed.
There should be natural rights awareness around this place. But fear not it only affects government employees. ofcourse considering that public sector employees make up 95% of the kuwaiti workforce.

So anywho, anyone out there got hear from the candidates? I've been slacking off.
Any of them has human rights in their agenda? I read an article the other day about how the candidates who r fighting for their seats back are coming up w/ all these serious issues and insider information and passion for fighting the current problems and the author asked, well why haven't you been fighting for these issues when YOU WERE in the pariliament? Instead the issues we had to deal w/ were cancelling the debts, the seperation and mixing of genders in schools, and public gatherings. (dewaween and tajammo3at)

I honestly doubt this deep in the race there will be that much positive change in the cultrue of the parilament but, one thing we need to do. Voters we must hold our reps accountable. deal?

Damn I look out the window its DUSTY. The sky is orange.
So Shoush and navyooo, among several others requested a recorded sample of me playing the guitar.
Well I have crappy recording hardware, I recorded something on the classical guitar the other day, but it has an annoying noise. I will do another take w/ proper equipment, I'll have to rely on friends for that. Ok now you literally can't c anything outside.
Anyways Here's the recording in mp3 format and in zip format
Don't use headphones, in fact don't listen at all, I will submit a better recording soon. Its only for teh curious if you wanna hear it right NOW. If anyone has any experience w/ recording and knows how to get rid of the noise let me know.
Infact if someone is oferring recording equipments/expertise let me know.
I've been told b4 that when someone listens to me play they think its coming from the radio. The noise ain't doing it justice :(

I haven't been regular last week, infact I was absent last week. I think am due for a break.

Seven things I plan to do:

1- Get a fender american deluxe P bass guitar
2- Get a 1960B Cab to complement my Marshall half stack w/ a 1960A Cab
....translation: I have a 100 watt amplifier w/ one speaker and am planing to get a 2nd speaker. Going for loud
3- Taking a good break, going to somewhere nice. (no specifics)
4- change my training schedule at the gym, trying to get a better cut rather than growth.
5- Chill a lot and have fun
6- Explore different options for expanding my income
7- Find the one.

Seven things I can do

1- I can hold the guitar and improvise for hours, all would sound musically correct.
2- Genuinely be careless about surroundings.
3- See the big picture
4- Keep my thoughts and any secrets to myself
5- Play for hours on the minor scale and its derivatives (sad sounding)
6- Depending on my mood change the mood in the room accordingly
7- Fake interest in a conversation

Seven things I can't do
Hard to think of these

1- Can't handle (mojamalat and rasmmyyaat) for too long
2- listen for too long w/o drifting away.
3- Play major scale based melodies and feel them. (major scale is happy scale)
4- Enjoy staying w/ a group of people for long (one setting)
5- Can't do something really well if am not motivated or believe in it
6- Can't do something just b/c am supposed to do it, I have to be convinced its the thing to be done
7- Handle criticism well, especially when it comes from someone I don't trust.

SlashDot reports that new estimates might increase the US oil reserve 10 times.

...a report by the US Geological Survey on the Bakken Formation. This is an oil field covering 200,000 square miles and underlying parts of North and South Dakota, Montana, and Saskatchewan. A geologist who began surveying the field, before dying in 2000, believed it may hold as much as 1 billion barrels of recoverable oil. Later estimates have ranged to the hundreds of billions of barrels. Such a reserve would go a long way toward securing US energy independence.

Would this be a significant factor on their energy independence?

This method is called phishing. Two possibilities: A- it was sent on purpose (unlikely) B- It was sent because the friend was infected (most likely). A further investigation shall reveal the unknowns in the story.

I got one of these scam e-mails and am posting it here, why? because one part of it cracked me up. They ask for confidentiality, wahahaha

Being the deceased financial consultant before his untimely and sudden death and since i am the only one who has the knowledge of the vaulting company in Europe where these funds ($30million) was moved to and can move this deal forward to it's successful end once we conclude to work together.It is a task well worth undertaking.According to practice, the vaulting firm will by the end of this financial quarter broadcast a request for statements of claim, failing to receive viable claims they will most probably revert the deposit back to SMITH & WILLIAMSON Private Bank.

So the parliment has been dissembled and up for re-elections in May. I notice that, pretty much no one really had any kind of sympathy for the parliment.
It even ended w/ no meaningful/progressive projects qued. The last actions of teh parliment b4 dssmissing it was related to personal attacks w/ members of the government. Not saying that members of the government are angels

The change we're expected to make as voters is gonna be hard w/ the new 5 districts system, I still can't c what kind of outcome would come out of this system which is completely stupid imho and I base that on the sole fact that a voter will not have true representation in the parliment, atleast 60% of those who claim to represent you wouldn't have been voted on by you. One day we will just wake up and thnk, is that really the will of the people? Thats the outcome?

I was contemplating simply not voting, but I think we're still too immature to understand what voters abstinance means so, I recommend everyone votes so your voice is heard. Although with this system the impression I get is like "we don't care about your opinion, we'll just choose a random bunch and we'll call them your reps."

I just signed up for a humor speech contest, another one of those just do it don't think. I have to present it this Saturday and now I am in the proces of brain storming.
Basically it is not a comedy show, its a topic taht you pick up and present it in a humorous way. The time is 5-7 minutes.
So I am trying to pick a topic right now and I asked if I could use politics for example, it was recommended that I stay away from politics and religion. The problem is after getting used to the daily show and stuff, politics is like my favorite topic to make fun of its such an easy target

Slash Dot reports that the rpm challenge will take place this february. The rpm challenge asks musicians to record a full album during the shortest month of the year February. So anyone interested sign up for the challenge.
A part of their message mentioned that there are a lot of things that can convince you to say no but just do it anyways.

Its the 10th year annaversary. 10 years passed, this experience still won't stop haunting me, haunting my thoughts, my dreams, my emotions.

The vivid scenes, the taste of dust, the exhaustion, the pain, the agony. Was it all worth it? Never regret anything you did, always learn from what you did though is the way I always look at things.

One person I know is a true friend since he was there ever since I can remember, my dear cousin Dr Shredd. This guy has been there through good times and bad.

It started in this cool breezy night, we were walking as we always used to when we were teens since we didn't have cars and we hated being a burdon on anyone to drive us around. It was a weekend and it was like our ritual to go to my grandfather's place for lunch on Thursday and start walking around three areas after that. Kaifan, Shamyiah, and Khaldiyah was our territory. For some reason that day we walked through all three of them back and forth and we finnished our regular tour with a lot of energy left.

I don't remember how the conversation started but it ended with, how long would it take us to walk to N's place in Bayan, I apologize if am disclosing private information. And of course, when you have group think, 2 guys that are bay3eenha. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this "experiment" as we put it. We're just trying something new. We went for it on the spot.

I know the post is getting long but it would be pointless w/o a conclusion. The journey began.

9 pm, we were walking in Kaifan, when the idea was approaved w/o question by the two of us, and we walked towards 3daylyah. Mind you, since we don't drive, we don't know the exact way we have a vague idea of where it is. On the way we passed by college of business which used to be in 3udaylya at that time. We asked the security dude, where is Bayan? he explained to us the way and he asked so you guys are drivving? no we are walking, we replied. No way, you will get there at dawn he said while laughing. Its ok, it is like an adventure for us.

What was our route? I can't really recall, we passed through areas, we crossed highways. Half way through we started questioning if we actualy can do this, we had no choice though, forward was the only way to go. Despite the temptations to simply take the guaranteed route and go back to our homes. But am glad that Dr Shredd is the type that will c things through to the end. We kept on going.

Tired, our legs hurting, dry as hell we reached a big house and saw the security guy outside, he immediately took us in and offered us water and tea. Was a nice break we chatted for a bit and the guy was soo generous to this day I feel gratitude to this silent hero.

We stayed the course in that agonizing journey, until we finally reached Jabriyah. We realized that we are ever so close to our target, final place we had contact w/ people asking which way to Bayan. The last parts of the journey are the most painful since you know your almost there but its hard and painful at the same time. Its like when your doing pushups and the last ones are hardest because you know your almost to the end.

we crossed the 5th ring road, we ran accross. We found an opening in the fence. I don't know why there is a fence and why people found it necessary to cut it in a certain place to allow for people walking to walk in.

We entered Bayan, at which point we were silent. We pushed our limits, and we were operating on pure adrenaline at that point. Covered in dust and sweat, we made our way in Bayan to finally reach N's place. It was 2 - 3 am. Everyone was asleep, we were so happy we made it. It is time to be proud of what we achieved, we achieved our goal, we were victorious. One final challenge was waiting ahead.

Its late everyone's asleep, and being the considerate people that we r we thought the worst thing to do was to wake them up. We had 2 options, order a taxi and go back home "imagine" but instead we decided we wanted to end it there. We can't put in any more effort for any kind of journey. We jumped the wall, we borrowed a ladder and we set it to N's window. We climbed up the ladder we open the window and N is sleeping.

N, N, wake up, dude check what we did... N, N... no reply.. the dude's sound asleep. Well we crashed, all dirty and everything we had a sound sleep.

Next day, news about the journy spread around. Everyone was talking about it, we got yelled at. Yelled at good, w/ everyperson having his own point to make:
YOU COUL'VE BEEN KIDNAPPED.
YOU JUMPED THE WALL? WHAT IF SOMEONE SAW YOU AND CALLED THE POLICE?
A CAR COULD'VE JUST HIT YOU
ARE YOU GUYS STUPID? WHO DOES THAT?
Here we are 2 teens who achieved our goal after 5 hours of walking, we believed what we did was great, no one seemed to agree.

10 years later, a reminder of this journey has surfaced, 3 of our aunts had a smaller journey/adventure the other day walking back and forth between Kaifan and Khaldiyah... No one yelled at them. It is obvious that its in our genes, it wasn't as bad as people made us feel that it was. You know what that extreme reaction did to us? why? why weren't we praised instead of being punished for such an act?
Oh well, the next time a younger generation of the family tries such a journey, everyone will be reminded. One day this journey might even turn into a tradition, a breakthrough in participant's lives.

Rock in the desert

We went to a show recommended by N called Rock in the desert that was advertised through facebook.
Two local bands were playing Free-Fall and White rose.
Was a nice event w/ some technical difficulties.
The drummer from white rose is a 13 yr old GENIUS. he is so talented and has the right attitude for rock. He drummed and sang harmony he was insane. There will be another show in 3 weeks and if we get our band together, just maybe :)
white rose will perform in an even called messilah bash that will take place in Messila beach this Wednesday. And apparantly the rock scene is getting started in this country. We met a drummer during the show just by showing up :) he likes metal we like metal, things just might work out.

I never considered signing up for facebook till that show its a good opportunity to network. A monsterous marshall amp is gonna be played in the open sometime soon.

The story of the marshall amp: We went to our farm in Wafra for the sole purpose to crank up the volume we got the following complaint.
Complainer: I think the farms around us can hear it loudly.
Blank look, kept on playing; Inner thoughts: oh cool, its 100 watt amp am glad everyone can hear it.
Complainer: ahh, people were wondering if the sound was coming from a type of party or something.
Another blank look, kept on playing; Inner thoughts: oh so the music sounds so good that it sounds like its coming from a radio huh?
Complainer: Well my 2 yr old is kinda sick and am trying to put him to sleep but I kinda can't b/c of the volume, so if u guys could turn it down a bit.
Meself: ohh, why didn't u say so? just for the kid I'll play clean and lower the volume np.

Anyways, this will reoccur and lets just hope they recognize this and... hmm maybe just have a full blown out rock show there, I mean we left the city just to play loud in the open right?

PS: The animals didn't seem to mind, I mean no one asked for their opinion but I think they probably were rocking out headbanging to our music.

Basically someone gets too close, I envolop myself in a shell putting out spikes. I realize that, I do it on purpose. but omg when someone believes in you so much that they're willing to get hurt by the spikes just so they can help you out.

It is my duty, I had no other choice but to listen and act. My couzin has surpassed depression, and he's been trying to help me fight it. I struggled.

Depression is you, all your intellegence keeps you down. It is custom tailored to you, it is your equal, it is you.
Have you seen lord of the rings when smeegle talks to his alter ego? depression is pretty much the same, it is your other self. It is your censored self suppressing your full potential.

My god my spikes hurt, my couzin went through them and decided to get hurt just to pull me out of depression, just to show me a better alernative, a better life.

One thing I can tell all the depressed people out there. Depression is curable. And it is just worth it to cure it. Umm consider this, it is your duty as a human to be happy in this life. I know depressed people can't relate but it is important to recognize this.

I owe it to my couzin to fight my depression all out now, no excuses. I just didn't care, not caring is a part of depression that should be fought actively.

Screw the past, everyone we all did mistakes in our pasts, don't you see people around you are happy? You deserve to be happy as any of them. You are valueable, your sense of happiness is there, but its censored by your depression. Thats important to note. Everything revolves around each human and their happiness, this is whats engraved into our own beings.

Now, the real fight begins. I am seeking a psychologist's help. I'll keep you guys posted. But I have one thing for depressed people. I can't be there to motivate you. Motivate yourself and just fight it. It is a tough fight. But if you want to unlock your potential, you must do it. Else you'll be wasting your life. Thats not the right path for you nor for anyone.

This is a story that took place in the US when a middle aged man (Tom) married w/ 2 children created a false online identity claiming to be an 18 year old Navy soldier (tall and handsome) who just came back from Iraq. He started chatting w/ Jessy a 17 year old who fell in love with him and started sending him gifts and pictures of herself posing in a bikinni and lying on bed etc.

One day Tom's wife found an evidence of her husband's online romance and sent a letter to Jessy telling her that he is a 47 year old man married w/ children. Jessy didn't know what to believe whether its another woman trying to steal this navy hunk from her, or if she was telling the truth.

Barret is a 22 yr old coleague of Tom in a tool factory. Jessy contacted him and Barret confessed to her that Tom wasn't what he claimed to be. Soon after Barret and Jessy started having an online romantic relationship of which Tom was furious.

Tom got so furious and started sending them both angry messages and such. Barret's reply was that he didn't choose to talk to Jessy, Jessy approched him and she started talking to him.

After this relationship started getting more and more seriouse, Barret was found dead in the parking lot, shot w/ 3 bullets to the chest.

Investigation in to the matter was initiated. The investigation revealed that Jessy was never the one chatting online looking for love. It was her mother Mary who happens to be shorter, overweight, and less attractive. Mary used her daughter's identity to lure in those two men.

Distressed by the investigations' results Tom pleaded guilty to the murder charge. A plea which he tried to withdraw later but the judge refused to withdraw it but agreed to an appeal.

Sad story of which a 22 year old man just lost his life, and for what? lies and deceit.

I've been talking to my couzin lately and we had a long conversation about happiness in life. Both of us were depressed for so long that we dont even know what it means to be happy
All my life I thought happiness was fiction, this world is all about pain and suffering.
However, influenced by our religion, god has ordered us to worship him and not forget to take our share from life.

This world, as god created it, is beautiful. It is our duty to worship god and be happy.

So depression update: The reason I started taking medication to fight depression was because my life almost got to a screeching halt. It got so bad that I basically gave up on everything. Not only that, I just can't find a value in anything. Can't enjoy anything I do. Everywhere I go whatever I do even if good happens to me its like w/e. But when bad things happen the thoughts get amplified to an insane degree.

So I started taking the medication and getting better, but I wasn't motivated to fight depression still. Medication alone gives you a tool to fight it, but its not nearly enough as you have to change your thought pattern and lifestyle. I wasn't interested in actualy fighting depression to improve my quality of life. All I wanted is some energy to do what I have to do. There is a better way to go about it, the natural urge in humans to pursue happiness.

In order to pursue happiness, depression can't just be left alone, it has to be fought with all you got. It has to be fought with full force. It has to be combated actively, and it should be a priority in life to be happy. There is a better option. Depressed people's quality of life is almost only 10% of their whole lives. Which means effectively you only live 7 full years if you live till 70. You have the option to live happily. And its plain better. Although you don't care when your depressed, you don't care about being happy. Its your right though, and it is your duty to be happy. Don't let any authority figure tell you otherwise they use depression and lowering the morale as means of control.

I went to the I-Max w/ N tonight we watched the Deep Sea video
I am glad I saw that because I needed a reminder of the beauty of god's creations

Bloomberg.com reports a phenomena of sex trafficking in the gulf, mostly in Dubai and has interviewed some of the victims who managed to escape.

Dubai is currently on a US State Department watch listwatch-list for failing to take "meaningful steps" to end trafficking of women for prostitution and other workers trapped in conditions of slavery.

Incidents and interviwees explained how they were promised high pay for maid, hairdresser and other jobs only to find their contract invalid and their passports confiscated by the employers. After which they get forced into selling their bodies.

There are an estimated 10,000 victims of human trafficking in Dubai, according to the state department's 2007 report. UAE officials claim the figures are overestimated and that they have begun to take action, passing the 1st anti-trafficking law in the middle east.

Kuwait and Qatar are ranked on the same watch-list for cases of invoulantary servitude, not sexual exploitation as in the UAE. Saudi Arabia is on a worse tier ranking than the UAE.

1- SlashDot reports that the voting software will be released to the public for feedback.
The voting software/machines were a contraversial topic in the 2004 presidential/house/Senate elections and the 2006 mid-term elections. At first it was confidential and closed source now finally they realize that openness and transparency is the way to go.
The public will have a chance to test the software and report bugs/backdoors to the authorities. It is the chance for computer geeks who happen to be activists, or just computer hobbyists I guess. I urge everyone who has the knowledge and the expertise to participate.

2- N's Blog, http://blog.oneortheother.info/ has a post of a collective poem. Everyone seems to be excited about it and I found i to be interesting. Please check on it and contribute.
